I'm throwing all the clothes I'll need
into a suitcase
singlets, summer dresses,
and a pair of shorts
that used to be my favourite jeans
before I cut the legs off them.
They're the only item
left
from the old days
refashioned to fit
my new size and style.
I wonder,
if I still had you
tucked away in a drawer somewhere
what a pair of scissors might do
to make you useful
again.
